Martha Cuellar Lotto WinnerMartha Cuellar was just an average woman working three jobs to put her son through medical school, but all of that changed in June of 2006. That was when she won $94 million playing Mega Millions. Martha had almost forgotten that she even bought the tickets until she heard on the radio that the lottery winner was from her town. This is when she stopped at a gas station to check her numbers and found out that she had won.

Martha’s life changed in an instant when she won the several million dollars. She no longer had to work several jobs to put her son through school, she was now able to retire and buy all the things she could only dream of. Everyone can dream about what they would do if they won that much money, but the truth is, the odds are really bad. If you do win, especially a large amount, it is important to remember not to go overboard. Many lottery winners find that after a few years they are running out of money because they spent too much too fast.

There are a few things to try and improve your odds of winning, but the truth is that there is no sure fire way to win, just improve your odds a bit. The best way to improve your odds of winning something is to play the smaller games. The games that have the largest prizes also have the worst odds. The daily games like pick 3 and pick 4 tend to have the best odds. If you choose to play these it is best to pick your numbers and stick to playing those numbers on a regular basis.

The games like the Mega Millions lottery also will have better odds when the jackpots are smaller. Many more people tend to play when the jackpots get very large making the odds worse. To increase you odds a bit with these games it could help to get a pool going among your friends or co-workers. Whatever games you decide to play make sure that you are not spending more than you can afford because it is easy to get carried away.
