Win A Macca’s Gift Card Worth $500
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, then you probably have already heard about how McDonald’s in Australia has been rebranded into ‘Macca’s’. This is the first time an international fast food giant has changed its name after finding out from a branding survey how most Australians – about 55 per cent of them – are calling McDonald’s by its shortened name – hence, Macca’s.
This change in the Land Down Under is just temporary but McDonald’s Australia is warmly embracing the ‘Australian-only’ nickname. And it’s just one of the many unique terms that Australians give to universally-known words and phrases such as football which they commonly call as ‘footy’.
The surge in the popularity of the moniker ‘Macca’s’ has also led to another action – having the name to be included in the Macquarie Dictionary, which is the Australian authority on the English language.
And maybe by now, you’ve been salivating at those beloved classics you order at your local McDonald’s or Macca’s store.
Good thing the promoter (The Trustee for MDJU No. 3 Trust for Ribekow Family Trust) is giving away to 6 lucky individuals a Macca’s Gift Card worth $500!!!
