There are many food contests out there that give away big prizes. Like food and challenges, this could be a great way to win a lot of prizes. Like for everything else, becoming a food contest champion will need training. The more and better you train for it, the easier it would b for you to win. Here are a few key tips that will help you:

  1. Help Your Body Repair Itself – the body is a wonderful machine capable of repairing itself and withstanding a lot of abuse. To ensure that it does get back to normal you need to space yourself out to give it enough time to recover. Hence, you need to keep count on both the quality of food and calorie intake and give your body enough rest time in between to get back to normal.

Food ContestsIt may sound as a no brainer, but you would be surprise at the number of people who would think nothing of taking up 10 food challenges over 3 days weekend. Just imagine what that can do to the body in long run. You need to listen to your body carefully, and do as it says. Moderation is always the best way to go.

  1. When Not Training, Eat Normal – you might be very much tempted to get off all hardcore protein, especially since overeating at food contests can put you off certain types of food. Don’t. If you stomach get accustomed to say, only bland food, veggies and the like you might have some major problems when you take up your next food challenge. Hence, it is best to continue eating a balanced meal throughout the year, even when you are not training.
  1. Stomach Training Takes Time; Be Patient – do not expect overnight miracles. It will take year to train your stomach well enough to eat like a champion and not suffer for it. Stretching your stomach for the challenges has its own drawbacks. When you are not training it will leave you feel hungry. Nonetheless, do not get into the trap of eating too much on daily basis. Train regularly, but not every day. And be careful what you eat so you would not end up with health problems.
  1. Be Aware Of Your Forte – everyone has its own specialty. For best result you should learn to recognize yours and specialize. For example, are you good at spicy foods? Train to become the best spicy food eater. Are you good at eating burgers, pizzas, noodles, pies, etc. Choose one thing and specialize. In this way, you would be able to dominate the scene quicker, and for a longer time.
