Here at Tomorro, we love to give back. But it's not just our lucky holiday competition winners or cash giveaway receivers who we give the chance to make dreams become reality. For the past two years, we have been donating a portion of our prize money to a range of not-for-profit organisations so they can continue to work to help those in need.
So we are stoked to announce that during 2017 and 2018, we donated AU$37k to our eight partner charities.
The AEIOU Foundation is dedicated to early intervention for children with autism and received a donation from Tomorro. They are the only provider of full-time early intervention for children with autism, and one of few foundations focusing on this issue Australia wide.
Tomorro's donation will give them the support to continue providing this essential family-centered program, and help them work towards their goal of ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Lifeline Australia is the national emergency suicide hotline, and the crisis support they provide has a huge impact on those who need help. Phillip who was just 14 years old when he called Lifeline, was considering taking his own life, but thankfully the crisis support team were available to take his call and give him hope.
This donation will allow Lifeline Australia to answer more calls and ensure everybody seeking help receives it.
The Cancer Council is the only charity in Australia to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. Therefore, they help cancer patients and survivors across their entire journey from diagnosis to treatment and survivorship.
They provide close to $15 million each year to support cancer research in Australia, and the donation they receive from Tomorro will help them continue to fund research, as well as providing support to people along their cancer journey.
Tomorro is also giving to Oxfam Australia, who fight against poverty by finding and delivering smart, sustainable solutions for the causes and symptoms of poverty. Their strong belief that all lives are equal, fuels a determination to empower communities to fight poverty, and ultimately change the world.
Through Tomorro's donation Oxfam can continue to provide clean water, stop hunger, empower women and girls and give a voice to people who might not have one.
Barnados Australia is receiving a donation from Tomorro to help support families and children who suffer abuse. Every day in Australia there are more than 145 substantial reports of child abuse and neglect and every two weeks, a child dies as a direct result of assault.
With Tomorro's donation, Barnados can continue to work towards keeping children safe and within their own families.
Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Queensland is the leading community organisation for people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and their families, and also received a donation from Tomorro. They provide invaluable support through multiple services, information, and resources to help improve the lives of children and adults with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
The small team of 25 staff in the organisation will continue to provide information, therapy, social work, and school support to 700 children and adults with spina bifida and hydrocephalus throughout Queensland, with the help from Tomorro's donation.
The final charity who also received a generous donation is Essential Need, a charity that works to solve humanity's most life-threatening problem; the lack of clean water for all people in the world. They are in a partnership with UNICEF and aim to raise social awareness and education on water poverty. Their ultimate goal is for all children to have access to clean water by the year 2020.
The donation from Tomorro will help the charity implement emergency relief programs, school programs, and ultimately empower developed countries to provide aid in order to end extreme water poverty.
Tomorro is excited to see what our partner charities achieve with their donations and look forward to continuing to raise money for these worthwhile causes.
