Impressive Apple iPhone 5sApple is on a roll these days, having not only one but two new iPhones to boast to the public. The 5s in particular has garnered an unprecedented success since its launch, thanks to its top-of-the-line hardware, a brand-new 64-bit processor, and a unique fingerprint sensor. So, does its extravagant price tag all worth it? Let’s see what critics have to say about that.

According to Engadget’s Myriam Joire, the 5s is almost entirely similar to its predecessor but when you take a closer look at the inside, you’d be impressed with the key additions. Of course, there’s the 64-bit support as well as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. But more than that, it works faster, loads apps quicker and the gaming front is smoother.

According to Techradar’s Gareth Beavis, the most impressive aspect of the 5s is its Touch ID. It makes the user feel so secure without all the hassles of entering the passcode over and over again. Moreover, you can now ditch your iTunes password in favour of the Touch ID. Through the A7 chip, your stored fingerprint can be recognized by the sensor without accidently sharing it with the world.

The Wall Street Journal gave its two-thumbs up to the 5s simply because of improvement in its speed. It said that Apple has finally found a way to make sure that the iPhone can connect to any cellular data network and LTE in the fastest possible manner even if the user is not on Wi-Fi. Data uploads and downloads just fly, which is a very good news for impatient users. And even with a lot of apps opened, the battery could last between nine to 12 hours. The 8-megapixel resolution was also maintained even if the rear camera shrunk its size.

TechCrunch’s Darrell Etherington loves the M7 motion co-processor of the 5s. With this helper chip, any motion data from the accelerometer, the gyroscope, and the compass can be processed more efficiently and yet uses less of the battery life. The M7 also makes sure that power is conserved in times when the iPhone is at rest for certain time duration, like when the user fell asleep. It definitely improved the standby time aspect of the 5s.

And that’s it. The iPhone 5s is everything you hope it would be and much more. These commendable thoughts from reviewers solidify the golden status of Apple’s newest device in the smartphone race out there.
