Uluwatu Sea Temple
Perched at the peak of a 70 metre cliff, Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most beautiful sea temples, and is a must-see on any dream vaycay. Although it’s one of the six key Balinese temples that help to ward off evil, that’s not why it draws the crowds. Every evening at sunset, tourists gather to watch the spectacular orange sea reflect the sun as it dips behind the horizon. It’s one of the best views in the world! Stick around for the Kecak dance performance at the temple and you’ve got the perfect night!
Pod Chocolate Factory and Cafe
Ever wanted to huh a honey bear? Well, at the Pod Chocolate Factory and Café, you actually can! Created by Australian Toby Garritt, he wanted to make the best chocolate in the world. Given the many rave reviews, he’s well on his way to achieving it.
The factory itself is located withing an elephant camp, and upon arrival, guests are treated to a tour detailing how cocoa beans are harvested and made into chocolate. Afterwards, you can even take a turn at making your own! The icing on the cake? You get to hug one of the factory’s three resident honey bears. Totally tame and saved from hunters, these three friendly bears are the perfect way to end your visit.
Bali is probably most famous for its glorious oceans and amazing beach culture. However, with the amount of tourists hitting the sands every year, the main beaches such as Kuta Beach tend to get a little crowded. So why not hit the road and discover some of Bali’s many hidden beaches? Gunung Payung Beach at Nusa Dua is perfect for collecting exotic sea shells! Or if you want a more adventurous experience, head to Green Bowl Beach and check out the mysterious sea caves. Just don’t disturb the sleeping bats!
Waterbom Theme Park
For a really fantastic family day, go to Waterbom; Asia’s best water park, as voted by Tripadvisor! From the thrill of extreme water slides like the snake-themed Constrictor, to the gentle ebb and flow of lazy river rides, there’s something to suit everyone’s pace. And hey, if you’re not into getting wet and wild, enjoy the park’s fish spa therapy, reflexology sessions, or even a mani-pedi!
Climb Mount Agung
Don’t miss your chance to experience Bali’s famous mountain; Mount Agung! It’s the fifth tallest volcano in Indonesia, and the tallest mountain in Bali itself. Although it’s an active volcano, fear not! Its last eruption occurred in 1964, making ideal for scaling the heights. While tourists do the 3000 metre trek to take in the best bird’s eye view of Bali you can get, the locals undertake it as a holy pilgrimage, and aim to do it at least once in their lifetime. An experience not to be missed!
